Firm's Twenty Years of Achievement

Compass Engineering Limited is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year, this represents a tremendous achievement for a company which was started as a supplier largely to the National Coal Board and was set up during the middle of the miners’ strike of 1984.

There have been highs and lows over the period, but essentially the company has performed well, increasing its turnover and profitability steadily over the years. Recently the company celebrated its achievement with an anniversary dinner at the Brooklands Hotel, which was attended by well over 100 past and present employees and their partners.

The entire workforce shares in the profits of the business, and health and welfare is a priority. At Christmas 2003 all the current and retired employees were given a special bonus to mark the 20th Anniversary.

“The future of the business will be built upon the standards laid down to date, coupled with provision of first class service to Compass Engineering’s customers”.

The current customers include many of the region’s premier building contractors as well as a number of national builders.
